ARTÉRIA is an independent architectural collective, founded in 2011, which designs, develops and disseminates architectural and urban rehabilitation projects with a social, ethical and ecological vision. ARTÉRIA understands architecture as an integral part of local development processes through the direct participation of communities. ARTÉRIA starts from a transdisciplinary perspective and uses action-research methodologies to implement transformative and inclusive urban and territorial interventions. ARTÉRIA works for local associations, public and private entities. ARTÉRIA develops research and curatorial works that expands the field of architecture and explores the intersections with other disciplinary areas, in collaboration with artists, social scientists and other liberal professionals.

Co-founder of Artéria studio. Graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Lisbon (FA-UTL) and Master in Arts from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. She was a visiting professor at the School of Architecture at the University of Umeå, Sweden (2014-2015). She is a PhD student in Urban Studies at ISCTE-IUL and FCSH-UNL. Responsible for coordinating curatorial and urban intervention projects. Bruna Pontes

(she/they) Degree in Architecture and Urbanism. Master in Urban Studies from ISCTE-IUL and FCSH-UNL, studied at De Montfort University, England. She works in an interdisciplinary way in the area of Graphic Design, Communication and Urban Spaces, focusing on community interventions, public spaces and civic activism - toured some Associations, Non-Profit Cooperatives and Collectives in Brazil and Lisbon. Graduated from the Technical University of Lisbon, completed a master's degree in Scenography at Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design, London 2003, with a grant from the Ministry of Culture. Worked as a scenographer and illuminator for dance and theater, having collaborated regularly with choreographer Clara Andermatt. He is director and programmer of “Festival Emergente” and “Festival A Estrada”. Graduated in Architecture and Urbanism (UFAL/BR), a master's degree in Art and Design for the Public Space (FBAUP) and a PhD candidate in Artistic Studies - Art and Mediations (NOVA FCSH). The investigation of places in their multiple dimensions - physical, mnemonic, affective, political,... - is often the starting point of his artistic practices. These take different formats such as audio walks, interventions in the landscape, publications and audiovisual installations. Graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Lisbon. He is the author of several architecture and urban rehabilitation projects in his own name. He worked in the area of coordination, management and building site supervision for VHM Coordenação e Gestão de Projectos, S.A., where he coordinated large-scale housing and commerce projects. Degree in Art History at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto and specialized in Curatorial Studies at FBAUL/Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. She has been working since 2013 with the Artéria studio, first as a curator and producer in several multidisciplinary projects such as the Ground Floor Act (Lisbon Architecture Triennale 2013), Lisbon Skyline Operation, for the Portuguese representation of the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale 2014, she currently works in the planning and monitoring of informal educational programs with the objective of education for Space and Architecture. | e: susana.soares@arteria.pt
